Co-created by Stagg the 7th Portal franchise was the most popular super hero web series ever. It proved itself on Television, the Web and Theme Parks, breaking boundaries and setting records.

 

The debut episode of the 7th Portal series in 2000 received over 3 million views in it’s first week - an unprecedented achievement at the time.

 

The 7th Portal broke new ground in production values for a web series costing over $200,000 per 2.5 minute webisode, with 22 completed.

 

The 7th Portal was the first Webisode series to air Internationally. Broadcast on Fox Networks, airing weekly in 19 countries reaching 65 million viewers.

 

In 2001 the 7th Portal 3D motion ride debuted at Paramount Parks to rave reviews and record traffic. Of 12 million theme park visitors,1.2 million cited the 7th Portal ride as “sole” or “strong” motivator for their visit. The 7th Portal 3D ride won first place of all new rides of 2001 on themeparkcritic.com, scoring a 4.75 out of 5, beating out both #3 Topgun (4.32)

and #8 James Bond (4.00).

 

The 7th Portal 3D motion ride was franchised to 50 International ride locations from Europe to the Far East with partner iWerks.

 

The 7thPortal.com won the WMA Best of Show Web Award (the best of all websites in 2000) in addition to the Best Entertainment website on the Web, beating both Warner Bros and Disney's portals in unique views at that time.

 

In 2001 Stan Lee Media, the producers of the franchise, reached a NASDAQ valuation of 350 million dollars, largely due to the success of the flagship 7th Portal franchise.

 

The 7th Portal broke ground as the first Super Hero franchise with a Native American leader and the first Indian and South African super heroes.

 

The 7th Portal web series is credited with coining the phrase Webisode.
