During his tenure as Art Director at Hanna-Barbera Studios, Stagg designed and directed the production of style guides,

posters, sell-sheets, brand systems, and guided license and merchandising with creative asset management and approvals.

As Art Director of Creative Services, Stagg was responsible for concept, art direction and implementation of all major new studio initiatives and advertising. Working closely with studio head Fred Seibert and directors and showrunners, he oversaw successful launches of: Powerpuff Girls, Dexter's Lab, Cow and Chicken, Johnny Bravo, and 20 other shows on the Emmy Award winning World Premiere Toons on Cartoon Network.

 

 
 
ANNUAL STORYBOARD CONTEST  | VARIETY ^

The annual Hanna-Barbera storyboard contest was responsible for some major discoveries of animation talent.

From Van Partible (Jonny Bravo) to Craig McCracken (Powerpuff Girls). Stagg designed the ads.

 
 
TRIBUTE AD / VARIETY | FRIZ FRELENG ^

A tribute ad in Variety on the passing of legendary animator Friz Freleng, paraphrasing the The Rubáiyát of Omar Khayyám.

Freleng was the creator of Bugs Bunny, Sylvester the Cat, Yosemite Sam and so many other characters beloved by generations.

 
 
H-B ANIMATION ART  ^

Hanna-Barbera was a major force in the animation art world, supplying Cels and Production Artwork used in the creation of hit animated shows

over the history of the studio. They are now highly sought collectible works of art. The Creative Corps, under Stagg's direction designed all marketing and advertising for the release of this classic cultural heritage.

Hanna-Barbera cartoons have been some of the most widely merchandised properties in the animation industry.
From Fred Flintstone to Scooby Doo, the studio has been a global leader in creative merchandise.

Stagg worked with the Licensing and Merchandising Department on creative asset management and approvals.

Hanna-Barbera Studios was acquired by Turner Broadcasting and a vibrant new identity was needed.

The rebrand celebrates the legacy of the studio while looking forward to the next generation of shows.
